Event templates
See which website, email, registration and app templates your organisation uses, customise one, and go back to the HAPR default when you need to.
The Templates page lists the website, email, registration form and attendee app templates that events in your organisation start from. Anyone in your organisation can read it, and organisation admins can change it. The templates belong to your organisation, not to one event, so the list is the same whichever event you open it from. It has no entry in the event menu yet, so ask your HAPR contact for the link.
- 1A group of templates. The others are Email, Registration and App.
- 2One template, with its name and a short line about it.
- 3The badge that shows where the template comes from.
See where each template comes from
The page groups the templates under four headings.
- Website, one template for each website design, such as Marquee, Atrium or Ledger. See Event website.
- Email, one template for each kind of email, such as Registration link, Reminder or Voucher delivery. See Email templates.
- Registration, the Default registration form. See Registration form setup.
- App, the App theme for the attendee app. See Designing the attendee app.
Each template shows a badge and a short line under its name.
- HAPR default means you have not changed it. The line reads "Using the HAPR default. Editing it makes your own copy."
- Customised means your organisation has its own copy. The line says HAPR updates no longer apply to this template.
- No default means HAPR has not set a default for it yet. The template has no editor and no buttons here.
Customise a template
- 1Find the template under its heading.
- 2Change it in the editor on the card. It is the same editor you see when you design that part of an event.
- 3Press Customise.
A Saved message appears next to the button. The template now shows Customised, and the button reads Save changes from then on.
Customising one template leaves every other template on the HAPR default. For example, changing Reminder does not change Registration link.
Go back to the HAPR default
- 1Find the template you customised.
- 2Press Reset to default.
- 3Confirm the question "Reset to the HAPR default? Your customisations for this template will be removed."
Your copy is deleted. A Reset message appears, the template shows HAPR default again, and it follows later HAPR updates. Reset to default appears only on a customised template.
Good to know
- Customising or resetting here changes your organisation's template, so it applies to every event in your organisation that still uses it. It does not overwrite an event that has already saved its own version. See Settings and default templates for how the same defaults are set from Settings.
- Only organisation admins can customise or reset. Everyone else in your organisation can read the page, and each card says that an admin can customise the template.
- Only the look and wording are saved. Each event keeps its own content, such as its name, dates and venue.
- To change one event only, edit that event's own website, emails, registration form or app, not the template.
If something looks wrong
- Not permitted. Your role cannot customise or reset templates. Ask an organisation admin or your HAPR contact. See Roles and page access.
- You can only view templates for your own workspace. You are signed in to a different organisation from the event. Sign in with the right account, or ask your HAPR contact.
- This form holds an image from before uploads became files. Reload the page to get the current form, then try again. Reload the page, then make your change again.
- A red message beside the buttons means the save or the reset did not go through. Try again, and contact support if it keeps happening. See Help chat and support.
Screen reference
Every screen of this feature and the words on it, taken from the platform itself. Open a screen to see its headings, buttons, fields and columns. Words in curly brackets are filled in for you, such as a name or a date.
